
The establishment of the Saudi Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (SASPGHAN) was approved by the Board of Trustees of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Resolution No. 39/C/67 dated 17/01/1434 AH corresponding to 30/11/2012 AD.
As part of developing governance and strengthening institutional work, the association moved to work under the umbrella of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, pursuant to license number 4616 dated 09/23/2024.
Since its establishment, the association has been working to enhance the level of healthcare provided to children in the areas of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, and to support the training and professional development of doctors and trainees, in addition to contributing to specialized scientific research aimed at improving child health in the Kingdom.
The association currently has 86 members, representing a select group of consultants and specialists in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. Members contribute to providing advanced treatment services, training medical personnel, organizing scientific programs, and raising awareness about childhood health issues.
The association seeks to be the leading body and a professional reference in developing the specialty and supporting continuing medical education, through high-quality scientific programs and effective professional partnerships within and outside the Kingdom.

Improving children's health by supporting and developing clinical practices, promoting continuing medical education, enabling scientific research in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, in addition to building effective professional partnerships that contribute to providing high-quality healthcare according to the latest local and international standards.
